Hockey Centre at the Olympic Park (London 2012) will have different looks than usual green colored astro turf. For the first time, the Olympic Hockey competitions will be held on blue pitches. The pink colored outline and blue pitch will blend well with theme of the games. According to GB hockey international player Alex Danson who was involved in color test, it provides a really strong contrast for players against the white ball and white lines and he quickly adapted to the change. This will also be the first Olympic Games since the introduction of the ‘Self Pass‘ rule by FIH to make game even quicker.
The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) today announced that the pitches to be used at the Hockey Centre at the Olympic Park will be blue. Over 600,000 spectators will be cheering on as the world’s top Hockey players battle it out on blue pitches for the first time ever at an Olympic Games.

The London 2012 Organising Committee today confirmed that tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games will go on sale on Tuesday 15 March 2011, and Paralympic Games tickets will go on sale on Friday 9 September 2011.

During the course of the March World Cup 2010, FIH president Leondro Negre had announced to hold major tournaments every year in India, and he has fulfilled his words now by alloting major FIH tournaments including Junior World Cups, Champions Trophies, Olympic Qualifiers and a round of World Series.
