Speaking on the upcoming Sultan of Johor Cup and challenge of Great Britain, Junior India defender and penalty corner specialist, Harmanpreet Singh said, “While I am waiting to convert the penalty corners, I am even looking at working on how best to push the opponents back. I am working on ball possession and counter attacks for which I am practicing hard on this. Our greatest opponent according to me will be Great Britain as they are a strong team. During the last edition even we had lost one match and that was against them, though in the finals we were lucky that we outwit them and won the tournament. This time around I am waiting for our clash against them.”
Speaking on the upcoming Sultan of Johor Cup, Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India said “It’s a very important tournament for us for two reasons. Firstly because we are aiming at continuing our winning streak and defend the title which the team has successfully done for the last two editions. Secondly the win here will help boost the team for the upcoming 8th Men’s Junior Asia Cup as they are vying for the Asian Champions title. This team is very ambitious in their targets and I am sure they go all out to achieve it. I am confident they will live upto their own expectations and come back victorious”.
The 5th Sultan of Johor Cup for Jr. Men will commence on 11th October 2015 and India will be playing Pakistan on the opening day at 16.05 IST.
