The Indian Men team for the upcoming India Japan Series was announced today. The 4 match series scheduled in Bhubaneswar from 3-9 May 2015 and will be live on DD Sports. Indian squad of 24 players include youngsters like Lalit Upadhyay, Pardeep Mor, Harmanpreet Singh. Following a stellar performance in Railway’s gold medal at Hockey Nationals 2015, Yuvraj Walmiki will also be seen in the taking on Japan at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking with this website, young midfielder Pardeep Mor from Haryana seemed excited about his inclusion in the team and he said is ready to grab the opportunity with both hands.

The Indian Men Hockey Team all set for the upcoming Test Series against Japan, which will be held between 3rd May and 9th May in Bhubaneswar. The four match test-series will be live telecast on DD Sports.
Practicing hard at the MDC National Stadium in the ongoing Preparation Camp, both players (25 core probables) and coaching staff are working on various team-combinations and strategies to utilise all the players and bring maximum performance out of them.
Speaking post the practice session, Coach Paul van Ass said, “Our easy-going days are over and we are working harder in this preparation camp. We are rectifying our loop-holes, especially in the defence-line. We are reviewing our previous performances and working on various aspects. We are trying new players in the national team in the tournament and will give maximum opportunities to all the players to perform on the field. Though Japan is lower ranked to us, we are not taking them lightly. In this era of modern hockey, you can’t take any team easy. Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Hockey Patiala 4-0 to clinch the title of the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) ‘’B’’ Division at Saifai today. In the Bronze Medal match, Hockey Bihar edged past Association of Indian Universities by 3-2 to finish at 3rd position in the tournament.

Railway Sports Promotion Board today won the championship of the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Men) Div- A as the defeated Uttar Pradesh Hockey by 5-3 in the highly-contested final match in Pune. In the Bronze Medal match, Air India Sports Promotion Board (AISPB) outplayed Hockey Gangpur-Odisha by 5-3 to finish at 3rd position in the tournament.

India will host the men’s hockey team of Japan in a four match test series at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar in the first week of May. The series, scheduled from 3-9 May 2015, will be in preparation of the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final (Men) to be held in Belgium in June this year.

The 25 core probable players for the upcoming India Japan Series are currently practicing under the guidance of newly appointed chief coach of India, Paul van Ass at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. The camp started on 22 April and will continue till 30 April 2015.
Apart from regular faces at preparatory camps, young sensational drag flicker Harmanpreet Singh and energetic mid-fielder Pardeep Mor are included in the core probables.
The Indian Men team bagged the Bronze Medal at the recently concluded 24th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, which also first tournament of new coach of the team India. The team will be looking at continuing their form in the upcoming tournament. Continue reading →
