Jalandhar November 6, 2014: Haryana-XI will take on RCF Kapurthala in Women Finals of the 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament, while in Men’s Semi finals defending champions Punjab & Sind Bank will face Army XI and Punjab XI (Pakistan) will lock horns with Indian Oil Mumbai on 8 November at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium.

Today Haryana XI beat Rest of Pakistan by 5-0 to jump ahead of Punjab XI on the basis of better goal average and booked a place women’s finals against RCF Kapurthala will be played on 7th November at 5-00 PM. Punjab-XI and Haryana-XI earned 4 points each from three outings each.
Though in the Pakistani girls lost this match by 5-0, but today their exhibited good hockey, well coordination but for their poor finishing, they failed to score. New Zealand, 06 November 2014: The Junior Women Hockey Team of India put up a tough fight in the ongoing series against New Zealand today and held the hosts 2-2 in their second match of the six-match test series being played at the TET Multisports Centre, Stratford after losing 1st Match by 1-2.
The junior black sticks women had a good start to the game as Kelsey Smith scored the initial goal of the match, giving the hosts a lead of 1-0 in the first half itself. India made desperate attempts to score but, given the strong defense line of the opponents, could not succeed in putting the ball in the net. In the Men sections, Indain Oil defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and Army XI defeated Bharat Petroleum 3-2 to entered semi finals of the tournament from their respective pools.
In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank by 4-1. The bankers took the lead in the 5th minute of the game when they earned their first penalty corner. Their penalty corner expert D Matthuselvan did not make any mistake to find the target.
