Host Argentina, Australia, Netherlands and New Zealand started off their FIH Women’s Hockey Champions Trophy 2014 campaign with victories at Mendoza in Argentina.
Luciana Aymar, Argentine legendary player, who is retiring after the Champions Trophy, scored only goal for the hosts when she found the target on pass from Agustin Habif in 52nd minute. And scripted the right start for her team in the campaign opener in front of vocal home crowd.
Dutch star Maartje Paumen struck twice on penalty corners to defeat struggling China and got her team a perfect start of the tournament with 3 points from the first match. Gearing up for the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014, the Indian Men team was seen practicing at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on Pitch 2 which is the new pitch in the stadium and used for the first time by the team today.
Playing their first match against Germany on the inaugural day (Full Schedule of Champions Trophy is here), India team looked upbeat to beat Markus Weise coached team. Under Roelant Oltmans guidance the team was seen practicing and fine tuning their skills on the field today.

For the fast approaching Hero Hockey India League 2015, scheduled to commence from 22 January 2015 in India, Hockey India League has Henrik Ehlers as the Umpires Manager for the tournament and a panel 12 Indian officials and 6 umpires from around the world.

Currently serving as the member of the EHF Appointments Committee at the European Hockey Federation and an FIH International Umpires Manager since 2010, Henrik Ehlers will now also be seen taking up the responsibilities as that of an Umpires Manager at the upcoming Hero Hockey India League 2015.
The recently appointed Panel of Indian Officials boasts of many esteemed and experienced names such as Raghu Prasad RV, who officiated London 2012 Olympics apart from Junior and Senior World Cups, Commonwealth Games, etc. and Javed Shaikh, who has been officiating major tournaments like the FIH World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games since 2003.
