The stadium with a capacity of 4000 spectators was inaugurated by the Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Hon’ble Gauri Shankar Agarwal. After reports appeared in a section of media about Sports Authority of India (SAI) not clearing the National Junior Women’s Hockey Camp proposed to be conducted in Bhopal from 19th August, 2014 to 30th September, 2014, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports clarified the situation through a press release.
According to press release, Hockey India was allocated a budget of Rs. 10.50 crore for its Annual Calendar of Training and Competitions for 2014-2015. Hockey India was required to determine its priorities for competitions and training within this budget. The Indian Men Hockey development team registered their third consecutive victory over Bangladesh to win the three-match series by 3-0. Team India continued their winning spree and defeated the host nation by 3-1 in the last match played at Dhaka today.

The positives from the series could be seen as the experience for some of the young players and a good starting for the coaching career of Tushar Khandker, while it was pleasing to see Arjun Halappa in supportive role and Harendra Singh also accompanying the team to Dhaka.
After winning first two matches by 2-1 and 5-1 India started the match with their attacking game and scored their first goal in 6th minute through forward Yuvraj Walmiki.
