Indian Men’s Hockey core probables are in Bangalore for the preparations of the Hockey World League 3 (Semi-Finals) to be played at Rotterdam in June.

The Indian team had a week’s in between their fairly successful tour of the Netherlands and ongoing camp in Bangalore. Indian side won two of their matches against club sides, while lost the other two and drew one. The men in blue concluded their tour with two victories against the hosts Netherlands. India defeated the Oranje by 2-0 and 4-2.

The Fans of Hockey had a chat of with Indian Skipper Sardar Singh, asked him about the experiences of the Netherlands tour and the plans during ongoing camp.


Sardar Singh said, “We played 7 matches at Rotterdam. It is the same turf, where we will be playing Hockey World League 3 (Semi-Finals), which is very important tournament for Indian Hockey and Hockey Lovers. This experience will help us, when we go and compete for the league (in the quest of qualifying for world).”

“We got to play 7 matches, two of them were against the Dutch National team (won both of them) and 5 against top Dutch Clubs (with international stars).” He added.

The 26 year old, who is considered one of the best Mid-fielder in the world further added, “All players performed well, though we committed mistakes, but we also improved with every match during the tour.”

“The camp has started in Bangalore, we will work on the mistakes which we committed during the (Netherlands) tour. I hope every player will give their 100% efforts and we will definitely qualify for the world cup.” He said and signed off.
