30 April 2013: Haryana registered 4-1 victory over Railways to win the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship. While Jharkhand finished third in the championship, which was held at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow.
Railways scored their opening goal through Amandeep Kaur in the 15th minute. After conceding an early goal, Haryana forwards played attacking game and built pressure on their opponents. Haryana scored through Udita (34th & 65th min) and Narinder (47th & 49th min). The defending champions failed to convert a total of ten penalty corners.
In the third place play-off, Jharkhand defeated Punjab 2-1. Jharkhand who led 1-0 at the half time scored through Ebha Kerketta in the 30th minute on penalty corner. In the 37th minute Basanti Kachhap scored to double their lead. Punjab reduced the margin in the 46th minute with the penalty corner which was converted by Sukhjit Kaur.
Jharkhand showed appreciable fluency and purpose, applied pressure on Punjab, but the forwards were a let-down as they failed to cash in on the opening inside the striking circle.
Chief Guest Mr. Ram Karan Arya, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Uttar Pradesh presented winner’s trophy to Haryana team.

¾ Position- Jharkhand 2 (Ebha Kerketta 30, Basanti Kachhap 37) beat Punjab 1 (Sukhjit Kaur 46)
