The 2012-13 edition of the KSHA flagship hockey event, OZONEGROUP NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, will be played from 1st April, 2013 in Bangalore.

The defending champions ONGC will give a miss to this year’s edition, while Namdhari XI, who missed last edition, will join the 10 other teams in the tournament to be played from 1st to 20th April 2013 at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangatore (map).

The eleven leading hockey teams from various parts of country, who will be fighting for the top honours, are  Air India, BPCL, IOCL, Army Red, Namdhari XI, Fortis, Punjab National Bank, SAl, Army Green, MEG and ASC.

As it has been in the past, the champions of the League will be richer by Rs. 2,00,000/-, while 1st runners-up will earn a purse of Rs. 1,50,000/-, 2nd runners-up will take home Rs. 1,00,000/- and the 3rd runners-up will be get Rs. 50,000/- along with the trophies.

The tournament will be played on a single pool competition with all the teams facing each-other once and the final positions will be decided on the basis final points table. The tournament will host 2 or 3  matches in a day, while the last match of the day from 14th-20th April will be played under artificial lights.

Considering the keen competition and the participation of several top hockey prayers to represent their teams, the organizers are looking for the services of a few reputed outstation hockey umpires.
