Devinder Walmiki, who led Junior Indian Hockey team in the inaugural editiion of Sultan of Johor Cup in 2011, is so happy with the call that he does not have words to describe it.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – March 27, 2013 – U.S. Head Coach Craig Parnham has selected a squad with a balance of youth and experience for two upcoming Four Nations tournaments in Auckland, New Zealand April 4-21, featuring Argentina, Korea, New Zealand and the United States, displaying his commitment to develop and implement fresh talent into the senior high performance program.
Parnham has included eight athletes with less than 10 caps to the U.S. roster for the tour. Five collegiate athletes, including, Caitlyn Van Sickle (University of North Carolina), Maxine Fluharty (University of Maryland), Nikki Parsley (Northwestern University), Amanda Fleischut (Drexel University) and Emma Bozek (University of North Carolina) will look to make their debut wearing red, white and blue for Team USA. The defending champions ONGC will give a miss to this year’s edition, while Namdhari XI, who missed last edition, will join the 10 other teams in the tournament to be played from 1st to 20th April 2013 at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangatore (map).

The Pakistan U-16 Boys Hockey Team will fly to Singapore for participating in the 2nd U-16 Boys Asia Cup to be played from 4th to 7th April 2013 at Sengkang Hockey Stadium.
Muhammad Atiq will lead the 10 member squad, while Nohaiz Zahid Malik will be his deputy in the tournament, which will be the first time the new FIH Hockey5s modified game will be played officially in the World. The tournament will also serve as qualifier for Youth Olympic Games, to be hosted by Nanjig in 2013 August. Apart from Pakistan and Hosts Singapore, 8 other Asian teams including Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan will fight for the top honours in Asia. Hockey Karnataka will be conducting selection trials to select Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Karnataka Hockey Teams in Men’s and Women’s categories for upcoming Hockey Nationals.

The selection trials for Senior Women’s players are proposed on 27th – 28th March, 2013 at Hockey Stadium, Bangalore. The team will participate in 3rd Hockey India Women’s (Senior) Hockey National Championship, to be played from 18th to 30th April 2013 at Lucknow.
Junior Karnataka Women’s Hockey Players’ trials will be conducted on 3rd – 4th April, 2013 between 8AM and 10 AM. The 3rd Hockey India Women’s (Junior) Hockey National Championship will be played at Ranchi from 19th April to 1st May 2013, for which players born on or after 1st January 1994 are eligible. Final: Monkstown 5 (A Ewington 3, D Carson, A Ward) beat Pembroke 4 (A Sothern 3, R Flannery)
Monkstown ended their 99-year wait for Irish Senior Cup glory, finally breaking their hoodoo in the competition in the most thrilling of finals as Andy Ewington cemented his cult status at the South Dublin club. For the second time this weekend, he netted a silver goal winner, this time putting an end to Pembroke’s title hopes with the third goal in the first period of extra time.
Normal time had ended 3-3 in a thrill-a-minute tussle that Monkstown shaded on points and had the chances to put the game to bed. They led 2-0 after Davy Carson’s near post touch to Andrew Ward’s and Ewington’s drag-flick.
