Ireland’s interim coach Brendon Carolan has announced his squad which will compete at World Hockey League  1 in Cardiff from 7th/9th September.  This is the first stage in the qualification process to the next World Cup which will held in Holland in June 2014.   Four teams will compete in Cardiff with the top two teams progressing to World League 2.  The teams, venue and date for World League 2 will not be known till the end of November.

Speaking after his selection Carolan said “”I am looking forward to the Green Machine continuing on all its hard work done over the summer. We will continue to drive the teams standards of excellence throughout all events, with the World League Round 1, in Cardiff being the first phase.

Jonathon Bell, Jonathon Bruton, Kenneth Carroll, Peter Caruth, Tim Cockram, Michael Darling, Stephen Dowds, David Fitzgerald, Paul Gleghorne, Ronan Gormley(Capt), Conor Harte, David Harte, John Jackson, John Jermyn, Eugene Magee, Bruce McCandless**, Andrew McConnell, Michael Watt

  • **Bruce McCandless, subject to a fitness test
  • All players in periphery squad will be regarded as reserves.
