About Allan Macbride Memorial Hockey Tournament:
Macbride as we all knew him was an absolute gentlemen & a disciplinarian to the core. A great hockey brain that he was; he coached the state team for many years and his beloved St Joseph’s Boys High School where he achieved many a laurel.
Macbride had also represented & captained the Karnataka state team where famous players like Deshamuthu, Rajagopal & Unni Krishnan to name a few played under him. The story goes to say that he definitely missed representing the national team.
It is indeed a fitting tribute to have this tournament in his name.
