Karnataka State Hockey Association (KSHA) has announced a Hockey Academy to impart coaching (induction) to budding youngsters who are interested to learn playing the hockey sport. The sole objective of the academy is to develop hockey in the Karnataka State. Hockey Academy will provide coaching in three tiers: Induction, Semi-skilled and Skilled. Induction for the beginners (who wants to learn playing hockey), Semi-Skilled for the players who knows how to play hockey, but need to sharpen their skills, and Skilled for the players who need to sustain and shape their careers. The academy will function through out the year at KSHA Hockey Stadium (also known as Shanti Nagar Hockey Stadium in Bangalore), Rhenius Street, Langford Town, Bangalore 560 025 from May 1, 2011 both in the mornings and evenings. The detailed coaching schedule can be obtained at the time of enrolling. The coaching will be provided free of cost to the interested individuals by the pool of reputed coaches.
KSHA has appeal for financial assistance for this program to meet a short fall of about 5 lakhs annually. Please contribute to the extent possible to help the hockey development and coaching. Contribution can be made online in the following account:

Text of KSHA Appeal for Financial Assistance for Hockey Coaching Development
KSHA has decided to make a fervent appeal to such of the well wishers and hockey lovers from India and overseas to extend their financial assistance towards hockey coaching development. KSHA has launched a Hockey Academy with the sole objective of developing hockey in the Karnataka State. Hockey Academy will have three tier system of coaching – Induction, Semi-skilled and Skilled. Induction for the beginners – who want to learn playing hockey, Semi-Skilled for such players who have acquired knowledge of playing hockey need to sharpen skill and Skilled – for such players – motivation, sustaining and shaping their career, special attention will be paid by intensive coaching. The coaching programme will start on May 1, 2011 at KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangalore 560 025 and will go on though out the year. We plan to have around 200 hockey players in the Hockey Academy and all of them will be under the experienced coaches. These senior coaches will be assisted by plethora of committed young coaches. KSHA has earmarked about Rs.6 lakhs for this purpose but this amount is not sufficient enough to meet various coaching expenses. In order to get best out of the coaches, we propose to pay all the coaches involved in the Hockey Academy.
