Air India flies high on their return to Ozonegroup State Super Division hockey league, emerging champions with a 2-1 victory over Army Red in last match of the league.

In their last league encounter in the 11-team event, star studded team, which coached bye Gavin Ferreira secured their ninth win to tally 27 points and sneaked past second-placed BPCL (the only unbeaten side in the league this season) who logged 26 points from 8 wins and 2 draws.  Third placed IOCL lost a match to champions Air India and drew 1 is series to tally 25 points. Army Red could manage 4th place. Air India got Rs 2 lakh for their effort, BPCL Rs 1.5 lakh, IOCL Rs 1 lakh and Army Red Rs 0.5 lakh.

Special prizes are as following:
Best goalkeeper: Swinder Singh (BPCL);
Best defender: Harpreet Singh (Namdharis);
Best midfielder: Birendra Lakra (BPCL);
Best forward:
S Armugam (Army Red);
Highest goal scorer of the league: VR Raghunath (IOCL, 23 goals, PC-21 ,PS -2);
Player of the final:
Sameer Dad (Air India);
Player of the championship:
Inderjit Singh (IOCL);
Most admired hockey player: Sabu Varkey (BPCL);
Most promising player:
Sagay Jayaseelan (MEG);
Fair play trophy:
Maratha Light Infantry (MLI).
